Extensive design considerations were made by Konica Minolta when creating the DiMAGE X1. The DiMAGE X1 introduces a newly designed "flat" 3x optical zoom lens (35mm equivalent: 37 to 111mm) that bends the incoming light 90 degrees, allowing the zoom operation to take place inside the camera. The lens doesn't protrude when zooming, so the camera maintains its slim, stylish form. The DiMAGE X1 also adds a digital 4x zoom, so you get a total of up to 12x zoom power.
The DiMAGE X1 can record smooth, high-resolution VGA (640 x 480 pixels) movie*1 at 20 frames per second with sound. Electronic Anti-Shake technology*2 helps ensure clear, sharp pictures, while autofocus mode lets you simply concentrate on the shooting. You can use the 3x optical zoom to capture closer shots with no image degradation. The DiMAGE X1 even has a Night Movie function for use in dim lighting
