You can assign the functions you use most often to the up-down and right-left keys of the controller. This makes operation quicker and easier -- just touch the key to access the assigned function. You can assign keys for the drive mode, exposure compensation, white balance, and camera sensitivity.

Select from among seven modes according to shooting conditions and the camera will make the optimal settings automatically. You just frame the shot and press the shutter button, and the DiMAGE X1 turns a special moment into a beautiful memory.

Portrait mode
Reproduces skin tones beautifully; captures even strands of hair or eyelashes in clear detail.

Super Macro mode
Allows super close-ups up to 5cm (2 inches) of the subject, so the subject literally fills the frame.

Landscape mode
Captures all the natural beauty of a landscape.

Sunset mode
Faithfully reproduces the reds in a sunset.

Night View mode
Lets you capture natural-looking shots of nighttime scenes and lighting, without using the flash.

Night Portrait mode
Lets you take great shots of people in the evening and when subjects are set against evening skies.

Text mode
Clearly reproduces characters on white backgrounds. Ideal for shooting a memo for example.
